Miss Rodeo Virginia
2012
Lindsey Harper
Thank you for supporting Miss Rodeo Virginia
2012, Lindsey Harper. A native of
Stantonsburg, North Carolina, Lindsey came
to Virginia to pursue her dream of competing
for the title of Miss Rodeo America. She is a
senior at Barton College double majoring in
accounting and business management where
she maintains a 3.9 GPA. The skills she has
learned in college thus far have enabled her
to own and operate her own riding lesson
business, Lessons by Lindsey. “Horses and
rodeo helped to mold me into the person I am
today. They taught me life lessons of
determination, hard work, and dedication. I
hope to instill these values into my students
one ride at a time.”  She also is the head
bookkeeper for her parents’, Allan and Renate
Harper, small business, Harper Landscaping.
When she is not working or attending school,
Lindsey enjoys competing in rodeo in the
events of barrel racing and breakaway roping
and voluteering at her church as the children’s
nursery director.
As Miss Rodeo Virginia 2012, she will travel
thousands of miles across the United States
promoting the sport of rodeo and the
agricultural way of life. She will be competing
for the coveted title of Miss Rodeo America at
Las Vegas during the Wrangler National
Finals Rodeo in December.  Lindsey wanted
to become Miss Rodeo Virginia to be an
ambassador for the sport of rodeo of which
she loves and to be a role model for the future
generations. “I want to use my title to
encourage people to follow their dreams. With
hard work, determination, and dedication, one
can do anything they set their mind to. I want
to have a positive impact on every person I
come in contact with. That is my goal for my
reign as Miss Rodeo Virginia 2012.”
